LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO – Fresh off their 2024 OJHL Main Camp, the Leamington Flyers have acquired defenseman Owen MacDonald from the OHL’s Sarnia Sting.
MacDonald, from Corunna, Ontario, is a 6’0” blueliner who spent the last three seasons
with the Sting.
In Sarnia, the 19-year-old logged 85 OHL games and averaged over 15 minutes of ice time per game.
“Leamington has the hockey culture and community support I was looking for,” MacDonald says. “The crowds are amazing, and the team’s goals align with mine in that we want to be playing for a championship this year. I couldn’t be more excited to play
here and help the team make their mark on the OJHL.”
“We expect Owen to have an immediate impact on our team,” shares Flyers general manager, Justin Solcz. “He is a quality player with excellent character and valuable OHL experience, and he will be a significant asset in our dressing room.”
