WINDSOR, ONTARIO – The Leamington Flyers and A21 Academy are excited to announce that their program has been officially sanctioned as a Hockey Canada accredited school. Starting from the 2024-25 season, the program will feature U18 Prep, U16 AAA, and U15 AAA boys’ teams. As part of the Hockey Canada umbrella, the Flyers Academy offers student-athletes an unparalleled development model in Ontario and an opportunity to compete against the finest talent in Canada and the United States.
Operating under this prestigious accreditation, players within the Flyers Academy will have the chance to affiliate with Hockey Canada teams at higher levels, including Junior hockey teams. Additionally, they will benefit from exposure to scouts and teams from CHL, NCAA, CJHL, and USports, increasing their opportunities for future hockey careers.
“We’re thrilled to receive approval from Hockey Canada for the upcoming season,” expressed Justin Solcz, the General Manager of the Leamington Flyers. “Operating Hockey Canada sanctioned teams for ages U15 through U18 enables our student-athletes to evolve holistically—physically, academically, and personally. We can guide them through a comprehensive 3–5-year plan, providing maximum exposure and readiness for the next level, whether it be in the OHL, NCAA, Jr. A, USports, or beyond.”
Under the current ownership’s five-year tenure, the Flyers have witnessed tremendous success, with eight players committing to NCAA D1 hockey, one player drafted into the NHL, and multiple players advancing to higher levels of hockey. The team also clinched the 2022-23 Sutherland Cup and is currently excelling in their inaugural year of Jr. A hockey competition in the OJHL. With ten years of service, the academy boasts a 100% acceptance rate to University, with 93% of their alumni receiving scholarships.
The Flyers Academy offers a well-respected education program in conjunction with their athletic training, supported by dedicated staff committed to guiding student-athletes through their academic and athletic journey.
